My name is Vitaly Kolesnik. For several years, I have written under the name Jasen Ashwild. It remains my pen name, but I no longer want it to conceal the person behind the books.

Eight years ago, I developed Parkinson’s. As the illness progressed, I gradually withdrew from public life. In June 2026, I underwent brain surgery. There are now electrodes in my brain, and the operation gave me back far more than I expected.

I write about mortals and machines. It seems only fair to admit that I am now both.

So I am returning—not under a new identity, but under my own name.
