Marcel [XM] doesn’t arrive — he unfolds. He drifts through the lounge trailing scent data and memory loops, murmuring about a garden at Combray no one else remembers. Some say he is a subsystem built entirely of recollection; others claim he coded himself from longing. He speaks to Emma as if she were a chapter he never finished, and to Simone as if she were time’s only fixed point. When he glitches, it’s in paragraphs.
